Just minutes from our Bugibba base, you’ll find some of the Mediterranean’s most celebrated underwater landscapes. The island’s unique limestone geology creates a world of caverns, arches and dramatic drop‑offs. From the iconic Cirkewwa Arch to the breathtaking Santa Maria Caves, every site delivers a different thrill. Our dive guides know the exact entry points, current patterns and hidden swim‑throughs that turn a good dive into an unforgettable one, whether you’re logging your first open‑water experience or your 500th. We launch fast, comfortable RIBs straight from the promenade, meaning you’re kitting up and rolling backwards into blue water within fifteen minutes of leaving the shop.
Malta’s sheltered north coast gives us reliable access year‑round. In spring and summer, visibility is often 30 metres plus, while autumn brings great conditions and fewer boats on the water. Highlights include the Um El Faroud wreck – a 115‑metre oil tanker settled upright on the seabed, now covered in colourful sponges and visited by curious barracuda – and the stunning Comino Caves, where sunlight pierces narrow fissures and illuminates the water in electric shades of blue. We also regularly dive the deep walls of Lantern Point and the playful chasm of the Blue Hole. Every trip is planned around the group’s certification level and interests, so you can simply jump aboard and let us handle the logistics.
PADI Courses for Every Level
Learning to dive or advancing your skills has never been easier. DiveBase Malta is a PADI 5‑Star Instructor Development Centre, meaning we deliver the complete range of recreational and professional courses right here in Bugibba. Complete beginners can start with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in our heated pool or shallow bay – you’ll breathe underwater for the first time under the direct supervision of an instructor, with no confusing theory and no heavy equipment to carry. If you’re ready to become a certified diver, the PADI Open Water Diver course blends eLearning you can complete at home, calm‑water training in the pool, and four open‑water dives over two days on our beautiful reef walls.

Essential Dive Gear & Rental
Whether you’re travelling light or looking to upgrade your own kit, we’ve got you covered. Our rental fleet is modern, well‑maintained and stocked in a full range of sizes. You can hire everything from a single torch to a complete technical rig. At the core of the rental set‑up are balanced, high‑performance regulators from Apeks and Scubapro, streamlined BCDs, and a bank of regularly tested aluminium and steel cylinders – including DIN and yoke options as well as dedicated nitrox cylinders for enriched air divers. All rental computers are easy‑to‑use Suunto models, and our wetsuit selection includes 3 mm shorties for summer, 5 mm full suits for spring and autumn, and semi‑dry suits for those who feel the chill. The result? Comfort in every condition without hauling a heavy bag through the airport.
For divers who bring their own equipment, our workshop offers same‑day servicing for most major brands. If a hose o‑ring blows or a regulator starts to breathe wet, our in‑house technician can usually get you sorted within an hour, so you don’t lose a precious day of diving. The retail corner stocks essentials like masks, fins, dive computers and underwater cameras, as well as Malta‑themed rash vests and eco‑friendly sunscreen. Need advice on a purchase? Our instructors will give honest, experience‑based recommendations rather than a sales pitch. And because we know gear confidence takes time, we offer a free buoyancy and weight check with every first rental – you’ll hit the water perfectly trimmed from dive one.
