Malta is a wreck diving paradise, and the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course takes you from simply looking at wrecks to safely penetrating them and understanding their internal layout. With DiveBase Malta, you’ll explore legendary sites like the HMS Maori, the Rozi tugboat, and the P29 patrol boat, learning how to map wrecks, use lines and reels, and handle the unique challenges of overhead environments. Whether you use a compact camera or a mirrorless setup, DiveBase Malta’s instructors will help you understand the fundamentals of underwater photography: white balance, strobe positioning, composition, and how to work with light in water. Our house reef at DiveBase and nearby shallow wrecks provide the perfect controlled environments to practice before you head to the iconic Blue Hole or the Um El Faroud.

This course isn’t just about pressing the shutter – it’s about becoming a respectful photographer who doesn’t harm the environment. You’ll learn buoyancy control tailored to photo-sessions, how to approach shy subjects, and the SEA (Shoot, Edit, Adjust) method for rapid improvement between dives.
