DiveBase Instructors are going to guide you through a 3 hour-long experience in a pleasant and calm environment respecting your learning times.

REQUIREMENTS

Sufficient swimming skills are required, as well as being in good state of health DiveBase provides all diving equipment needed. Participants should bring own bathing suit/shorts or bikini, towel and dry clothes.

Min age to participate is 10 y/o.

A Medical Screening Statement and Questionnaire must be filled out before you start. In case of positive answers to the Online questionnaire, DiveBase Team has the right to request an additional legal document of fitness to dive issued by a doctor or medical examiner. Please inform the Team before the start of the activity in case of medication taking, asthma, high blood pressure, heart complications, past COVID-19 positivity or any surgery in the past 12 months.

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW! After this diving activity you cannot take a flight. Leave 12 hours for non diving activities before taking a flight.

The marine life around Malta is equally impressive. Expect to encounter colourful schools of bream, damselfish, octopus, moray eels, and even flying gurnards. OUR DIVE CENTRE FACILITIES

DiveBase Malta is more than just a meeting point — it is a fully equipped dive centre designed with your comfort in mind. Our spacious centre includes separate male and female changing rooms with hot showers, a dedicated equipment rinsing area, and a secure storage space for personal belongings. After your dive, you can relax in our shaded outdoor area, review your underwater photos, or chat with your instructor about the marine life you just encountered. We are located just minutes from some of Malta’s most beautiful and accessible dive sites, minimising travel time and maximising your time in the water.

All scuba and freediving equipment used at DiveBase is modern, well-maintained, and replaced on a regular servicing schedule. We use only leading brands that meet the highest international safety standards. Your mask, fins, wetsuit, regulator, buoyancy control device, and tank are all included in the experience price, so there is no need to bring any specialised gear. Before each session, our staff carefully checks every piece of equipment. Should you have any personal preference, simply ask — your comfort and confidence are our priority.

BEYOND THE FIRST BREATH: CONTINUE YOUR DIVE EDUCATION

Once you have tasted the freedom of breathing underwater, many participants choose to continue their journey. DiveBase offers a full range of PADI courses that allow you to build on your Discover Scuba Diving experience. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the logical next step: over three to four days you will learn essential theory, practise skills in confined water, and complete four open-water dives. Upon certification you will be qualified to dive independently with a buddy to a depth of 18 metres, anywhere in the world.

For those who wish to specialise, DiveBase also provides advanced and specialty courses. Learn to dive deeper, perfect your buoyancy, explore wrecks, or discover the art of underwater photography. Freedivers can progress through Apnea International or PADI Freediver levels, refining static and dynamic breathhold techniques, equalisation, and safety procedures. Our instructors take pride in offering flexible schedules, small group ratios, and a calm, encouraging approach that respects your personal learning pace.

PLANNING YOUR DIVE EXPERIENCE

Booking with DiveBase is straightforward. We recommend reserving your spot at least 48 hours in advance, especially during the busy summer months. A minimum number of participants may be required for some sessions, but we always do our best to accommodate solo travellers. After you book, you will receive a confirmation email with all the details: meeting time, location, and a reminder of what to bring. On the day of your dive, simply arrive dressed in casual beachwear with your towel, sunscreen, and a sense of adventure.

Your safety and comfort depend on a few simple preparations. Avoid alcohol the evening before your dive and ensure you are well rested and hydrated. If you wear prescription glasses, contact lenses can be worn under your mask — we can also provide prescription masks on request, subject to availability. Listen carefully during the pre-dive briefing; your instructor will explain hand signals, equalisation techniques, and what to do at every stage of the dive.
