Whether you need a full set of regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, or just a dive computer, our rental fleet is meticulously serviced and sanitized after each use. We also offer specialty items like underwater torches, GoPro mounts, and double tanks for technical divers—so you can show up with just your mask and logbook, and we’ll kit you out for the Med.
If you prefer to dive with your own equipment, our spacious rinse tanks and secure overnight storage lockers mean your personal gear stays clean, safe, and ready for the next splash. The Maltese archipelago sits at a crossroad of sea currents, bringing nutrients that sustain an astonishing variety of Mediterranean creatures. From the tiniest nudibranchs and seahorses hiding in Posidonia meadows to barracuda schools patrolling reef drop-offs, every dive around Malta, Gozo, and Comino offers a new page in a living marine atlas. During late summer, you can drift alongside graceful eagle rays, while spring brings the spectacle of thousands of jellyfish—a pulsating, harmless ballet that attracts loggerhead turtles and sunfish.
DiveBase Malta works closely with local marine biologists to keep our briefing boards updated with seasonal sightings. On many sites you’ll encounter friendly octopus, moray eels peeking from crevices, and massive groupers that have become local celebrities. For the lucky few, a dive at dawn may even reveal a passing dolphin pod near the Comino channel. Our guides are trained to spot the small wonders too: pygmy pipefish, flabellina nudibranchs, and the elusive Mediterranean slipper lobster. DiveBase Malta runs year-round AIDA and PADI Freediving courses, from basic breath-hold techniques to advanced depth training. Beginners fall in love with the sensation of sinking along vertical limestone walls without a single tank, while experienced freedivers can target iconic deep spots like the Blue Hole of Gozo or the Cirkewwa Arch—where a single breath can take you through a cathedral of light. Water temperatures that rarely dip below 15°C and 20+ metre visibility mean you can train in a 5mm suit almost any month.
